Kira Bates has more than a decade of experience managing public relations and social media campaigns for clients in a variety of industries.
In 2012, she formed MacKenzie Public Relations and has represented clients that include Douglas Development Corporation, Nando’s Peri-Peri, Crime Museum, Yoga NoMa, and others.

Prior to forming MacKenzie Public Relations, Kira served as the Director of the DC-based public relations and marketing firm, Bravery Corporation. In addition to managing core client accounts, she drove business development and helped to secure the following clients for the firm: Buddha-Bar DC, Douglas Development, Washington Convention Center, Events DC, Destination DC, Redline Bar, and RFK Stadium, among others.
Kira began her public relations career in New York City, where she worked for two New York-based fashion and lifestyle public relations agencies: LaForce & Stevens and HL Group. Former clients include: book publisher ASSOULINE, Ralph Lauren, David Yurman, Vera Wang, Halston, Cynthia Steffe, Ports 1961, New Yorkers for Children, Keds, daniblack, Tous jewelry, Carlos Falchi, Y & Kei, and Marco Bicego jewelry.
Kira received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and English from Denison University.
